Capitol Conspiracy
The nightmare begins with the abduction and murder of the director of Homeland Security; escalates with the killing of the Senate minority leader, who is felled in his office by an envelope laced with weaponized poison; and comes to a shattering climax at the site of the Oklahoma City Memorial, where a fusillade of sniper fire meant for the president claims unintended victims. In all, twelve people perish in the melee, while Ben himself narrowly escapes a car-bomb blast that leaves his best friend, Tulsa cop Mike Morelli, comatose. But the smoke has barely cleared when the stunned nation is sent reeling yet again by the president’s impassioned call to amend the U.S. Constitution with an antiterrorism law that would drastically curtail civil liberties.

Strip Search
This is the long-awaited sequel to Dark Eye, which many people still think is my best book.
Six months after the events of Dark Eye, police psychologist Susan Pulaski has cleaned herself up and put her life back on track--but some people insist on focusing on her past mistakes.
Autistic savant Darcy O'Bannon is still struggling to convince his father he is capable of doing police work--when a bizarre killer with a fixation on weird math and Kabbalistic theology starts stalking the Vegas Strip.
The killings seem random; only Darcy can see a pattern...

Princess Alice
This book began as a bedtime story I told my three children, Harry, Ralph--and Alice.
Thanks to the glorious illustrations of my dear friend Kerry McGhee, it has become something
much more. This project was a delight from start to finish. I hope you enjoy it as much as
I did.

Capitol Threat
Ben and Christina's relationship heats up and so does the political pressure when Ben
becomes involved in an extremely controversial Supreme Court nomination. The murders only
serve to turn the heat up even more.

Equal Justice
The First Lady of the State of Oklahoma, Kim Henry, told me she wished there was a book for
young readers that would make Oklahoma students more aware of the achievements of civil
rights pioneer Ada Sipuel. I thought it was a wonderful idea and was happy to help make it
happen. This book was chosen to be an Official Oklahoma Centennial publication and has been
distributed to grade schools throughout the state.

Capitol Murder
I thought sending Ben to Washington to represent a senator charged with murder and several
other scurrilous crimes would be an interesting change of pace. Turned out readers thought
it was a good idea--as I write this in early 2007, this is my bestselling hardcover ever,
which is why the next soon-to-be-released Ben book also contains "Capitol" in the title (but
I promise there won't be nine "Capitol" titles).

Dark Eye
I think this is the best book I've ever written, but what do I know, I'm only the writer. I
love Susan Pulaski and I love her relationship with the autistic young man who turns her
life around, Darcy O'Bannon. I even love the villain, Edgar, who thinks he's the hero.
He's trying to save us all, following the instructions of his prophet--Edgar Allan Poe.
